Professionally I have been in the field of Education for my whole life, as a teacher, a Staff Developer, an Assistant Principal and an adjunct at Hunter College in the Literacy Department. I have always been artistic and enjoyed creating things. As a Staff Developer I helped teachers design their classrooms to enable optimum environments for learning and I created multiple graphic organizers which became the foundation of the District 10 reading program. However, I didn’t start painting until 7 years ago, and now I can’t stop! I have studied art at the 92nd Street Y, and travelled to Pinzolo, Italy and Florence, Italy for painting workshops with the Y. In addition, I have studied watercolor at Omega, in Rhinebeck, NY and several Road Scholar workshops. Watercolor was the first medium that I studied, and I have now branched out into colored pencils and oils. My work has been selected many times to hang in the Student Art Shows at the 92nd Street Y, and at the Vintage Artists Gallery Exhibits. I will have my own show at Gallery 18 in the Riverdale Y this coming July.
