Sharon Krinsky

Sharon Krinsky is primarily a mixed media/collage artist, but she has also worked with acrylics and pastels, created handmade books, and experimented with various forms of printmaking, all of which she incorporates into her collages. She began drawing and painting as a little girl, and the desire to make art has never left her. Because of her interest in learning new techniques, Sharon has traveled to places near and far for workshops, such as collograph printmaking in Ireland and mixed media in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Before retiring a few years ago, she mainly worked as a copy editor in publishing, and she still does occasional freelance jobs, but most of her time is now devoted to making art. She also writes poetry and has been published in literary magazines and anthologies, including the Best American Poetry series. She has a BA in Fine Arts and a Master’s in Library Science. Early Modernist painting, mid-century design, the Bauhaus, paper dolls, and dreams are some of the influences on her work. She has been included in several group exhibits and is now looking forward to her forthcoming solo show. Sharon was born in New York City and continues to make her home there.
