He began his career as an Art Instructor at the Art School for Gifted Children and also worked as a freelance illustrator of children’s books with Literatura Artistica Publishing Company.

After moving to the United States, Dmitriy worked as a decorative painter, muralist, and a freelance illustrator with Real Estate News, Ballet Lover’s Guide, and Harper Collins Publishers. He is retired but is still with JASA as an Art Instructor.

His awards include First Place in Watercolor at Bover Award Show, Cansos Award for the Best Watercolor in Fort Lee Spring Outdoor Art Festival, and Best in Show at Mamaroneck Artist’s Guild. In process of painting Dmitriy is intrigued by the challenge of how to organize everything in a harmonious way, how all the colors talk to each other, and then to tie it together with a message.
