My artistic education started at the School of Graphic Design in Buenos Aires as a teenager. During a gap of many years I finished several careers (Masters in Sciences and Public Health, PhD in Biochemistry, and an Associate degree in nursing), raised a family, and worked at diverse professions, including basic scientist, public health researcher, clinical research manager and research nurse.  I moved from Manhattan to Riverdale 22 years ago, and the neighborhood enriched my love of nature, gardening and art. Community courses at Lehman College and the Riverdale Community Center gave me confidence and encouraged me to exhibit my art. Apparently, you never forget skills learned as a youth!

Since 2013, I have been exhibiting artworks in group and solo shows at Columbia University Health Sciences Library, and at community venues in Riverdale: RYSEC, The Riverdale Y (Gallery 18), Metro UrgiCare, and the Office of Senator Alessandra Biaggi. I am a member of the RAA Board and serve as its Exhibits Chair since January 2020.

My artwork is inspired by nature and motivated by the multicultural kaleidoscope of New York City. Van Cortlandt Park is a short distance from home, and I enjoy hiking there and observing its multiple environments. The park is an endless source of inspiration for my art and for my personal garden. Many of my paintings reflect my enjoyment of the park. However, I feel that my best artwork is my garden, which over the years had combined wild and cultivated plants, all growing in beautiful equilibrium, creating a positive feedback loop that inspires and sustains my artworks.

I hope my art moves other people, as my garden delights me. I remember my connection and enjoyment of Marc Chagall’s “Over Vitebsk”, when the painting visited Buenos Aires so many years ago. I was enthralled, and could not take my eyes out of it for some time.  For some reason, the painting told me a story that I was unable to forget.
